Terms of Use
Last updated 21 August 2026
These Website Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your access to and use of the website at leafshift.net and its associated pages (the “Site”).
The Site is operated by:
- LeafShift Solutions
- The Netherlands
- Email: info@leafshift.net
In these Terms, “LeafShift”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator identified above.
1. Scope of these Terms
These Terms govern only the use of the public LeafShift website, including its pilot-request form and research-log signup.
They do not govern:
- a LeafShift pilot;
- access to LeafShift software, APIs or interfaces;
- sensor or hardware integration;
- a subscription or commercial deployment;
- consulting or technical services; or
- automated control of irrigation or other equipment.
Any such activity requires a separate written agreement. If there is a conflict between these Terms and a signed agreement with LeafShift, the signed agreement controls for the services covered by it.
2. Acceptance
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Site.
The Site is intended primarily for farms, greenhouse operators, researchers, agricultural businesses and other professional users. Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory statutory rights that may apply to you.
3. About LeafShift and the Site
LeafShift is developing technology relating to irrigation and fertigation decision support. The technology and associated research are at an early stage of development and validation.
Content on the Site is provided for general information and to invite potential pilot discussions. It is not:
- a binding offer;
- a complete product or service specification;
- a representation that a feature is currently available;
- a performance or accuracy guarantee;
- professional agronomic, engineering, financial or safety advice; or
- an instruction to operate irrigation, fertigation or other equipment.
Examples, diagrams, dashboards, recommendations, confidence ranges and comparisons displayed on the Site may be illustrative.
You should not use Site content to determine water, fertiliser or chemical applications, operate equipment, manage crop safety, or make other operational decisions. Such decisions require appropriate professional judgement, local information and, where relevant, advice from qualified specialists.
4. Pilot requests
Submitting a pilot request expresses interest and starts a potential commercial discussion. It does not:
- oblige LeafShift to offer or accept a pilot;
- reserve pilot capacity;
- create a partnership, agency or advisory relationship;
- confirm that your sensors or systems are compatible;
- guarantee a particular start date; or
- create a contract for services.
LeafShift may accept or decline a request at its discretion. Compatibility, scope, fees, responsibilities, data use, confidentiality and other pilot conditions must be recorded in a separate written agreement before a pilot begins.
Unless that agreement expressly provides otherwise, a proposed pilot is expected to begin in shadow mode and not involve LeafShift controlling pumps, valves, controllers or other farm equipment.
5. Research log
You may voluntarily subscribe to the LeafShift research log. Subscription does not create a paid service or advisory relationship.
Research-log content is general information and may describe experiments, development work and preliminary observations. It should not be treated as validated agronomic or operational advice.
You may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in each research-log email.
6. Permitted use
You may:
- access and read the Site;
- print or save a reasonable number of pages for personal or internal business reference;
- share links to the Site; and
- quote limited extracts with appropriate attribution where permitted by law.
No other rights are granted unless LeafShift gives written permission.
7. Prohibited use
You must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its infrastructure, accounts or databases;
- interfere with the operation, security or availability of the Site;
- introduce malware, harmful code or abusive traffic;
- use forms for spam, fraudulent enquiries or bulk submissions;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your authority;
- submit contact details, content or data that you are not authorised to provide;
- use the Site to violate applicable law or another person’s rights;
- reproduce, republish, sell or commercially exploit substantial parts of the Site;
- remove copyright, trademark or attribution notices; or
- use automated systems to extract Site content at scale without written permission.
The final restriction does not prohibit ordinary search-engine indexing, accessibility tools, or activities that cannot lawfully be restricted.
8. Information you submit
You remain responsible for information and materials you submit through the Site.
You confirm that:
- the submitted information is reasonably accurate;
- you are authorised to provide it;
- it does not infringe another person’s rights; and
- it does not contain unlawful or malicious material.
You retain any rights you hold in submitted content.
You grant LeafShift a limited, non-exclusive right to use submitted content only as reasonably necessary to:
- receive and assess your request;
- communicate with you;
- investigate compatibility or potential pilot scope;
- protect the Site and prevent abuse;
- maintain appropriate business records; and
- comply with applicable law.
This permission does not give LeafShift the right to use identifiable submitted information for general AI-model training. Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Confidential and sensitive information
The public pilot-request form is not intended for:
- passwords or API keys;
- access tokens or authentication credentials;
- complete sensor datasets;
- precise infrastructure-security information;
- trade secrets;
- personal data about employees or third parties; or
- other confidential or commercially sensitive materials.
Please provide only the high-level information needed for an initial discussion. Confidential technical or operational information should be shared only after LeafShift and the relevant organisation have agreed an appropriate secure method and, where necessary, a confidentiality or pilot agreement.
Submitting information through the public form does not by itself create a confidentiality agreement.
10. Intellectual property
The Site and its original content, design, graphics, software, branding and wordmark are owned by LeafShift or used under an appropriate licence and may be protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws.
The LeafShift name and branding may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or affiliation without written permission.
Nothing in these Terms restricts quotation, criticism, reporting, statutory exceptions or other uses that are permitted by applicable law.
11. Third-party websites
The Site may link to third-party websites or services, including LinkedIn.
LeafShift does not control and is not responsible for their availability, content, security or practices. A link does not necessarily mean LeafShift endorses the third party. The third party’s own terms and privacy policy apply when you use its service.
12. Site availability and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site. We do not guarantee that every feature or page will remain available.
We may temporarily restrict access where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance or prevention of misuse.
Descriptions of planned or experimental features may change and do not represent a commitment to release or commercially support those features.
13. No warranties
The Site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We take reasonable care when preparing Site content, but, to the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that:
- the Site will always be available, uninterrupted or secure;
- Site content will be complete, current or error-free;
- examples or research observations will apply to a particular farm, crop or environment;
- displayed recommendations or confidence ranges represent live or validated results; or
- the Site will meet a particular user’s requirements.
Nothing on the Site constitutes a guarantee of accuracy, water savings, reduced input use, increased yield, crop quality, financial benefit or technical compatibility.
14. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, deliberate recklessness, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Subject to those exceptions and to the extent permitted by applicable law, LeafShift is not liable for:
- decisions made in reliance on general Site content;
- operational use of illustrative recommendations or examples;
- indirect or consequential loss;
- loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity, data, crop, yield or anticipated savings;
- interruptions or security incidents outside LeafShift’s reasonable control; or
- third-party websites, services, sensors or systems.
Where LeafShift is legally liable in connection with the Site, its liability is limited to direct loss that was reasonably foreseeable from the relevant event.
This section applies only to use of the public Site. Liability relating to a pilot or paid service is governed by the applicable written agreement.
15. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data.
The Privacy Policy is an information notice and does not form part of these Terms. You are not asked to consent to the Privacy Policy merely by visiting the Site.
Where consent is required for a particular activity, such as subscribing to the research log, it will be requested separately.
16. Suspension or blocking
We may block or restrict access to the Site where we reasonably believe that a user:
- is misusing the Site;
- is creating a security risk;
- is violating these Terms or applicable law; or
- is interfering with other users or our infrastructure.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the Site, our activities or applicable requirements change.
The revised Terms apply from the date they are published and do not retroactively change a separate agreement or obligations that arose before publication.
The date at the top identifies the most recent version.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and use of the Site are governed by Dutch law.
If you use the Site in a business or professional capacity, disputes relating to the Site or these Terms will be submitted to the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
If you are entitled to mandatory consumer protections or another mandatory jurisdiction, those rights remain unaffected.
19. Severability
If a provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. The invalid provision will be interpreted or replaced only to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and consistent with its intended purpose.
